Applications for our April 2025 Santa Fe workshops are open!

2025 Workshop Dates:

April 9th - 13th, 2025

In April 2025, immerse yourself in the art of storytelling amidst the breathtaking desert landscapes and vibrant cultural scene of Santa Fe. Our Santa Fe Writing Workshop brings together an intimate group of fiction and nonfiction writers for an intensive four-night experience of instructor-led workshops, craft seminars, one-on-one conferences, and in-depth discussions on the craft and business of writing.

Led by renowned New Yorker magazine contributor and memoirist Marin Sardy and celebrated novelist Swan Huntley, this program is designed to be intentionally small, ensuring personalized attention and a close-knit community atmosphere.

Santa Fe, known for its unique blend of rich history, artistic spirit, and literary allure, provides an ideal backdrop for creative exploration. Each workshop will accept no more than 10 participants, fostering an environment of focused learning and exchange. Upon acceptance, writers are invited to submit two pieces of their work; one will be workshopped by your peers and instructor for group feedback, while the other is reserved for a private consultation with your workshop leader, offering tailored guidance on your writing journey.

Our daily craft talks, open to all participants, are led by our esteemed faculty. Whether you’re looking to hone your voice, deepen your understanding of literary craft, or navigate the path to publication, our workshops are designed to support your goals. We are committed to treating your writing with the seriousness it deserves, teaching the craft necessary for producing impactful and enduring work that resonates with readers far beyond the confines of the workshop.

At Writing Workshops Santa Fe, surrounded by the city’s unparalleled beauty and artistic energy, our mission is to nurture your writing from the solitary act of drafting into the warmth of a supportive and inspiring community. For four nights in April, there is no more inspiring setting for this transformative experience than amidst the high desert magic, architectural splendor, and creative soul of Santa Fe, a city celebrated for its artistic and literary heritage.

 What will my application include?

  • Brief bio informing us of your involvement in the writing and literary community and any prior or forthcoming publications. (500 words  max)
  • Purpose statement explaining why you would like to participate in Writing Workshops Santa Fe. You can also discuss current manuscripts or writing projects that you might choose to workshop. (1000 words max.)
  • Writing sample excerpts in fiction or nonfiction. This does not have to be published work, though that is acceptable, nor does it have to be a piece you plan to workshop. Complete works under the word count are not required; excerpts are acceptable. (Fiction/nonfiction/poetry: 5000 words max).

We look forward to reading your work!

Sincerely,
